George Engdahl Memorial Auto Tech Scholarship
The George Engdahl Memorial Auto Tech Scholarship is being offered by his family to commemorate George's dedication to automotive technology and his lifelong commitment to the Anoka community. George began his auto tech career as a parts salesman for National Bushing in Anoka in the late 1950's. From there, he went on to own and operate a Phillips 66 gas station/repair shop on 5th Avenue in Anoka. Buy the 1970's he was teaching automotive technology courses at the Minneapolis Vocational High School, still living in Anoka and commuting every day by bus. During the summers, George worked at Main Motors in Anoka. He was well-known in town as the guy who could figure out what was wrong with your car and knew how to fix it. George passed away in 2016, but we hope his memory will live on in the careers of the future automotive technicians this fund will help support.
